Bhayshul Tuten Running Back Virginia Tech
Senior
5'11 Feet Tall
209 LBs
Pros
He’s Extremely fast possesses great long speed once he hits the open field he never got caught from behind
I bet he runs around a 4:3 he’s definitely capable of that time I feel
He has excellent burst through the hole and gets to the second level quickly
He has as pretty good vision and understands where the running lanes and holes are he keeps his head and eyes up looking for open field
He has potential in the receiving game, but he could expand on it a little more he has a very limited route tree as a running back and seems a little raw as a pass catcher when it comes down to it, but he definitely shows he can handle the basics and has respectable solid hands
Has ok contact balance not the greatest not the worst just ok in that department
He would fit in a zone rushing scheme very well he ran in that style of offense at Virginia Tech
He’s a very good kick returner as well he can definitely help a team on special teams
Cons
Has a smaller frame as a running back
He has a bad habit of after breaking a long run slowing down several yards short of the goal line after he thinks he outrun everyone I almost seen him get caught a couple of times from behind doing that
He can be a little to east and west at times even when he has creases and openings to get the ball north and get some tough yards that are available
He plays as big as he can he seems to have the desire, but he still can struggle to break tackles consistently and grind out important yards between the tackles when needed
He is willing to throw himself in there for pass protection, but he isn’t the best in pass protection overall he just needs some coaching and refining in his technique
He Doesn’t possess elite lateral agility he has solid lateral ability, but it isn't his greatest trait
He Isn’t all that illusive for his size either he doesn’t make a ton of people miss in the open field
He has a little bit of a fumbling issue as well he has to work on ball security a bit
He’s coming off a late season ankle injury as well nothing to serious, but we know ankle injuries can linger a bit hopefully it doesn’t affect his combine or pro day any
Overall Analysis
He’s an interesting player given his top end speed he could be a guy that could potentially show out at the combine given his speed may get him noticed a bit more I see a guy that has some talent and has gotten better through his college career, but he is far from the complete package
His lack of getting north and running between the tackles consistently will make it hard for him to excel at the next level as a true three down bell cow he’s someone who may get a shot just because of special teams alone so I wouldn’t mind taking a dart throw on him possibly 3rd to 4th round of my dynasty rookie drafts if he gets ok draft capital and a decent landing spot in a scheme and team that fits him as a runner
He’s someone I’m not overly pounding the table for but I do like him and see a good amount of potential in him at worst I see him maybe as more of a change of pace type of back in the right situation to me, but he does have some home run hitting ability that is very intriguing at times he is a little bit raw as a running back overall but I do think there are aspects of his game that can be improved and unlocked
